10 Years Ago Today

Ten years ago today, Scott and I received Jiliang's photo from West Sands Adoption Agency in Utah. I received the email at work, but I waited until I got home to open the emails with Scott, around 5:30 p.m. We didn't expect that we would find our daughter that day, but we knew it as soon as we opened the email. The special thing was that 1106 was my lucky number, because I grew up on 1106 Murray Drive. The other sign was that her name was so close to my name: Gao, Ji Liang. Her name was a combination of my name, Jill; my sister's Leah's nickname, Le; and my mom's middle name, Ann.
