Another Special Hamster

T.J. has another "special hamster". For all of you who shared in the sadness about Jerry Mouse's passing right after Christmas, you probably heard the many stories of how Jerry Mouse (actually a hamster) was SOOOOO special. She was a super-tame, super-friendly hamster that loved to hang out with the family. We always joked, because she was the only pet in the house who didn't cause mischief. :) She was also special because she had 3 legs, but my son T.J. would tell everyone that she could do anything that a four-legged mouse could do. My son took extra special care of Jerry and was quick to tell everyone all about Jerry and how she was an amputee. She taught T.J. many life lessons, and many adults for that matter - she was known lovingly as "the wise mouse".
Jerry could never be replaced in our hearts, but Scott did get T.J. two new hamsters. T.J. named the two new girls Felix and Sunny. T.J. spoils them beyond belief with fresh lettuce, carrots, apples, nuts, seeds and dried fruit. They are completely different that Jerry, but they provide much comic relief. They don't like to leave the comfort of their cage and are easily spooked, but they come visit at their door and beg like dogs for treats. Today, I was looking at Felix and realized that she had only 4 digits on her right hand. Therefore, we have another unique little hamster. T.J. and I thought that was so special.
